Nestled between the ocean and a cliffside road in Iceland’s remote Westfjords, the Drangsnes Hot Tubs offer one of the most unique geothermal bathing experiences in the country. With only a small white changing hut across the street as a landmark, this off-the-beaten-path spot is as tranquil as it gets.

🌡️ Soak in Nature

The bathing area features three tubs of varying temperatures – from cool to comfortably hot – all fed by a naturally heated spring discovered in 1997. Locals drilled a borehole to access the geothermal water, then built the tubs in a prime location right by the sea.

Changing facilities and showers are available just across the street. As is tradition (and good etiquette) in Iceland, please shower thoroughly before entering the pools.

If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of whales out at sea or witness the northern lights dancing above in winter.
