Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch. Originally built as a townhouse for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703, it became the Royal home in 1837 when Queen Victoria moved in. With 775 rooms and a massive garden, the palace has been the backdrop for many state occasions and royal events. Over the years, it has undergone renovations and additions, including the iconic balcony where the royal family greets crowds. Today, the palace's state rooms are open to the public during certain times of the year (July to September), offering a glimpse into its grandeur and history.
