Established in 1984 by Hiroto Endo and now run alongside his wife Ai, Endogama is a small studio that reimagines traditional Tobe-yaki with a sleek, simple-modern aesthetic. What makes their work unique is the departure from typical thick, blue-and-white porcelain; instead, they focus on creative forms and textures, such as their signature "stone-eye" (ishime) finishes and sophisticated celadon or bronze glazes. Their pieces are designed to be "completed" only when put to use—whether holding a home-cooked meal or a seasonal flower arrangement—blending the natural strength of Tobe clay with a refined, artistic delicacy that fits perfectly into contemporary living spaces.
