As one of the cleanest and bluest lakes in Alaska, this is actually where most of the water in Anchorage comes from (so swimming isn't allowed). You can however kayak and paddleboard on the lake so you'll usually see many people taking advantage of this during the summer months. There is also a nice trail to hike around the lake so you can enjoy the shoreline too. Parking can fill up very quickly during nice weather days, and costs $5 per car to park.
