Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a sacred Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai. Legend has it that the temple was founded in 1383 after a monk found a relic believed to be Gautama Buddha's shoulder bone.
You can reach the temple by climbing 309 steps (for free) or taking a tram from the bottom (for a fee). The temple grounds feature pagodas, statues, and shrines, blending elements of both Buddhism and Hinduism.
This temple is a bit out of the city center so you will need to sort transport or book a tour. I do recommend having a guide so you don't miss the historical and cultural history.
Don't forget to cover up! Shoulders and knees.
