Osh Bazaar or Osh Market is one of the biggest bazaars in Bishkek. The vendors in the sprawling market sell everything from food and spices to clothes and household products. It's a great place to observe local life and discover new foods.
The stall holders are generally pretty friendly and happy to explain their products to you or let you try something, especially nuts, dried fruit and sweets. It's the perfect place to pick up some snacks or anything else you might need for your trip.
When is it open? It's open every day of the week from early until late. If you arrive first thing in the morning around 8am, you’ll be able to see people setting up and the produce being brought in from the countryside.
Recommend: I recommend eating in the market at Al Baraka (Аль Барака on Google Maps) inside the market. This is a great spot to try local food, from lagman to plov and snacks like samsa. It’s a very budget-friendly place.
Reminder! Be respectful of the locals, and only take photographs after asking permission.
