Overview
Ghibli Park recreates the worlds of Studio Ghibli films through detailed architecture, life-sized sets, and walkable environments. It’s built inside Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park and focuses on immersive storytelling rather than rides or attractions.
Areas
• Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse – indoor space with exhibitions, film sets, short films, and food court
• Hill of Youth – includes the World Emporium from Whisper of the Heart and the Cat Bureau
• Dondoko Forest – Satsuki and Mei’s house from My Neighbor Totoro, plus a hilltop playground
• Mononoke Village – traditional thatched buildings and forest spirits from Princess Mononoke
• Valley of Witches – locations from Kiki’s Delivery Service and Howl’s Moving Castle with small-scale rides
Helpful Tips
• Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance online
• Entry is divided by area and time slot—each zone requires separate access
• Grand Warehouse is the largest and most time-consuming area; prioritize it if time is short
• Food is available inside the park, but options are limited and lines can be long
• Most areas are not covered—bring weather-appropriate gear
• Walking is required between zones, so wear comfortable shoes
• There’s no private parking near the entrance—use public transport or shuttle access from nearby stations
