About a 10-minute walk outside the city center but totally worth it – Il Vecchio e Il Mare is a go-to pizzeria for many Florentines who claim it to be the best pizza you can find near the city center. They have a wonderful, large outdoor seating area located off the street that is draped with lights and greenery, so it’s a great stop for a casual date night.

Tip: while there are other non-pizza items on the menu here, I’d suggest sticking to the pizza – it’s their specialty.
