Step into a world of eclectic charm at what feels like the heart of Budapest's nightlife, the city's original ruin bar. You'll find yourself wandering through a labyrinth of rooms, each bursting with character from mismatched furniture, quirky art, and graffiti-covered walls. Grab a local craft beer and find a nook to soak in the vibrant, bohemian atmosphere - whether you're settling into an old Trabant car or a converted bathtub. It's a place that transforms from a relaxed hangout by day to a buzzing, energetic hub at night, offering a truly unique Budapest experience.

Sunday special: On Sunday mornings, Szimpla also hosts its famous farmers’ market, which gives the place a completely different daytime vibe.

Reservations: it generally doesn’t accept reservations.

Good to know: It’s touristy, but still one of the few “touristy” places in Budapest that are actually worth seeing once.

My honest take: Go once, go earlier than most people, and treat it as an experience - not as the place for the best drinks in the city.
