The "Kindlifresserbrunnen" in Bern is a 16th-century fountain that features a sculpture of an ogre eating a a child. The grotesque scene has made it a popular photo opp.

There has been a lot of speculation about the meaning of the scene, from seemingly anti-Semitic connotations to folklore references like Krampus. Some think it's simply a cautionary tale for misbehaving children.

Location: Kornhausplatz, Bern • 10 min walk from Bern train station
