Hida Folk Village, located in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, is an open-air museum exhibiting over 30 traditional houses from the Hida region. Built during the Edo Period, these structures are a unique look into the history and culture of this mountainous district. Visitors can explore the buildings which include former village head's house, logging huts, storehouses, and the iconic gassho-zukuri farmhouses with their steep thatched roofs resembling pairs of hands in prayer.
