Praia da Duquesa ("Duchess Beach") is the nearest beach in Cascais in case you arrive in the city by train. Its name derives from the Palace of the Dukes of Palmela, situated right next to the beach. It is surrounded by nice restaurants, bars and kiosks.

Despite its convenient location, this can also be the most crowded place in Cascais during summertime, so depending on the time of the year, Praia da Duquesa can be either a great or an unpleasant destination depending on your preferences.
