This is arguably my favourite paddling spot around here. Streams start from right down at the car park so you don't even have to walk anywhere if you don't fancy! Lots of people pitch their picnic up right by their car but we like to take a walk up past the tea rooms and further up so it's a bit quieter.

If you're adventurous you can try and make it all the way to Lightspout Waterfall which is around a 3-mile walk from the car park.

All the way up you follow a beautiful stream which kids can choose to paddle in all the way if they like. I'd recommend bringing sandals/crocs/rock shoes that can walk in water with because the rocks can be sharp underfoot.

On the way there there's a reservoir which is officially safe to swim in, and you'll find that a LOT of people do in the summer; it's a bit like spring break down there sometimes with blow up inflatables and all sorts!

If you're lucky you'll get to see the wild horses that roam about up here, oh and plenty of sheep.

National Trust spot so it's free parking if you're a member - otherwise it's a small charge.
