Palazzetto Zuccari is an impressive 16th century residence, located at the crossroads of via Sistina and via Gregoriana in Rome. The palazzo is characterized by its wonderful Mannerist and Baroque facades: while the entrance on via Gregoriana features strikingly decorated cornicing and windows that resemble monstrous open mouths, the facade facing Piazza Trinita Degli Monti boasts a balcony with details added by Queen Marie Casimire Louise de La Grange d'Arquien from around 1702. The interior remains richly decorated to this day and contains luxurious art created by the artist Federico Zucchari who designed the building himself. Previously home to the De La Salle Brothers, today Palazzetto Zuccari is also known as Biblioteca Hertziana and is run by the Max Planck Institute. Featuring stunning architecture and fascinating history, this palazzo is truly one for the books!
