Lake Minnewanka is just past Two Jack Lake and is one of the largest lakes in the Rockies, stretching 21 km through a glacially-carved valley. If you’re into boating, you can rent a kayak, canoe, or take a scenic cruise while guides share stories about the lake’s submerged village and Indigenous history. Tickets start from $69 and can be booked on this website. Remember to bundle it with other attractions to save money.

For hikers, there are multiple hikes which take you along the shoreline and some even up the mountains. You can go as far as you like, whether it’s a short walk or a full-day trek. All hikes can be found on Alltrails. It’s also a great place to spot bighorn sheep, deer, and even the occasional bear, so keep your camera and bear spray handy. If you're visiting in the summer, pack a picnic — there are plenty of benches and tables near the parking area where you can relax by the water. In the fall, the golden larches start to pop, and the crowds thin out. Come winter, the lake transforms into a frozen wonderland with snowshoeing trails and ice formations along the shore.

Parking is plentiful early in the day, but it does fill up quickly during the summer months. There are public washrooms at the main lot and even a small café called the Black Anchor operating seasonally.
