Annette Lake is a local favorite for swimming and picnicking. It features a sandy beach and surprisingly comfortable water temperatures in the summer months, making it one of the most swimmable lakes in the Rockies—even though it's still chilly! Picnic facilities and gentle walking paths complement the family-friendly atmosphere.
Mount Edith Cavell provides a dramatic backdrop for photographs. It is best visited from July to early September, when water temperatures are most pleasant. Weekdays offer a quieter experience away from local crowds, and evening visits often reward with spectacular alpenglow on the surrounding peaks.
