The Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail in Banff National Park is a 26.8 km paved pathway that celebrates the park's values and encourages eco-friendly exploration. With multiple rest spots, picnic areas, and informative panels along the way, it's perfect for cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts from May to mid-October. You can rent bikes in Banff or Canmore, including e-bikes. The route from Canmore to Banff is harder, and Banff to Canmore is easier.

The trail features electrified mats to deter wildlife and offers a scenic route through Banff town or a more direct option. So, grab your bike, helmet, and furry friend (on a leash) and prepare for a fun adventure in the heart of the Canadian Rockies! It should be noted that the paved path follows along the busy TransCanada highway, so it is not exactly a natural setting. As locals we love it, but may not be for every visitor.
