Þúfa is one of Reykjavik’s coolest and most unique outdoor art installations — and a bit of a hidden gem. 🌱 It’s a grassy, dome-shaped hill with a winding path that spirals all the way to the top. When you reach the top, there’s a small fishing shed used for drying fish, which is a nod to Iceland’s fishing heritage. 🎣

Located by the harbour, Þúfa is a peaceful spot with epic views over the ocean, Mount Esja, and Harpa Concert Hall. It’s a short walk from downtown, and while it might seem random at first, there’s something really calming about walking up the spiral path and taking in the quiet.

It’s also super photogenic — especially at sunset. 🌅 If you’re looking for a spot that feels a little off the beaten path but still rich in culture and history, Þúfa is one to check out. Plus, it’s free and always open!
