Located in Tokyo's Ryogoku district, the historic Ryogoku Kokugikan National Sumo Arena is one of the top attractions for sumo enthusiasts. The large stadium has been host to some of sumo’s greatest tournaments since 1985 and offers visitors a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with Japan’s national sport. During tournament season, visitors can enjoy the thrill and excitement of watching the ‘wrestling giants’ compete as well as soak in the lively atmosphere among the passionate crowd. The Sumo Museum on the premises also serves to provide visitors with an insightful overview into the fascinating history and culture of sumo.
