The Hike

Description

For a truly rewarding challenge with breathtaking views, you have to experience the hike to the Riko Kreuz. The trail starts at the Gasthof Grüner See, where you turn right into the forest. Keep in mind, that this isn't a simple stroll; the path gets quite steep and rugged, demanding good hiking shoes and a steady foot (the more difficult sections are secured with ropes). At the end of the trail you reach the summit cross via scree, where you are rewarded with a fantastic view over the famous, turquoise Grüner See and the surrounding Hochschwab mountains. It’s the perfect combination of lake scenery and mountain perspective in one short but rewarding tour.
