Charming one-lane bridge in New Zealand

One of my favourite Queenstown photo spots—and one that’s super easy to reach—is the view down the Shotover River Gorge from Edith Cavell Bridge.

If you’ve booked a jet boat trip on the Shotover, you’ll actually pass right under the bridge where this shot is taken.

The bridge itself is on Arthurs Point Road, about 15 minutes from central Queenstown on the way to Coronet Peak. There’s a small public car park just past the bridge on the left-hand side.

⚠️ The bridge is really narrow, so stick to the footpath and keep an eye out for bigger vehicles when you’re photographing.

📸 Photography tip: Because the gorge is often in shadow, you’ll get the best results shooting during the day when the light hits the canyon. A wide-angle lens works perfectly here to capture the full depth of the scene.
