Te Rewa Rewa Bridge is a striking pedestrian and cycle bridge in New Plymouth, known for its sweeping steel arch that looks like it’s moving with the wind. Opened in 2010, it forms part of the Coastal Walkway, linking New Plymouth to Bell Block, and has quickly become a favourite spot for both locals and visitors. Whether you’re out for a walk, jog, or bike ride, the bridge is a highlight—especially because it frames Mount Taranaki perfectly when viewed straight down its length.

The bridge is busiest in the evenings when people head out to enjoy the fresh air, but it’s worth visiting at any time of day to experience its unique design and breathtaking views.

📸: Sunrise is best, especially If you’d like a quieter experience. Bring a zoom lens and step back from the bridge so you can compress the view, lining up Mount Taranaki right in the centre of the arch.
