Nagano Snow Monkey Park is a must-add to your Japan bucket list!

One of the only places in the world where you can watch snow monkeys chilling in hot springs, we were fascinated and spent hours here.

It’s an easy day trip from Tokyo, and getting there includes a beautiful 20-minute walk, especially magical in winter with the snowy path leading the way.

Once you arrive, plan to spend about 1–2 hours soaking in the experience (not literally, though the monkeys seem to love it!).

If you’ve got extra time, check out the nearby onsens. Nagano has more than 700, the most in Japan!

Tickets cost around 800 yen for adult, 400 yen for kids.
