The Fairmont Breakers Long Beach is a historic oceanfront hotel in downtown Long Beach, originally opened in 1926 as the glamorous Breakers Hotel. Built during the city’s early resort boom, the grand 14-story building quickly became a hotspot for Hollywood stars, socialites, and travelers arriving by ship to the nearby harbor. After decades of changing ownership and periods of closure, the landmark building was carefully restored and reopened in 2024 under the Fairmont brand, blending its Jazz Age elegance with modern luxury. 

With nearly a century of history, the hotel has also picked up its share of ghost stories. Guests and staff have reported unexplained footsteps in empty hallways, lights flickering late at night, and sightings of a mysterious woman believed by some to be a former guest who never checked out.
