Devils Gate Dam
Historic
Directions

Built in 1920, Devil’s Gate Dam sits at the entrance to the Arroyo Seco canyon and takes its name from a rock formation that early settlers believed resembled the profile of a devil. The dam and surrounding canyon have long been associated with local folklore and strange stories.

The location’s stark concrete architecture and isolated canyon setting have made it a popular filming location for science fiction and dystopian scenes.
