I guided this trip for many summers and it was always my favorite one. There is always something extra fun about paddling from A-B opposed to going in a circle.

This long day paddle goes around the Folafótur peninsula, the "Horse's leg", referring to the mountain Hestur, "Horse", that is visible throughout the trip. Decades ago there were multiple families that lived on that peninsula, farming and fishing for living. Amongst them were my great-grandparents who had 15 kids, thereof 6 sets of twins! So be careful when you drink from the stream there, there might be some sort of a fertility mineral in the water.

Away from roads and noise, this paddle takes you through some stunning scenery and a beautiful coastline. Good chance of spotting seals and even humpback whales or dolphins. Lots of bird life (puffins!) and even arctic foxes on the beach.

I'd only recommend this for those in good physical shape as it's a long paddle and demanding.
