Nudey Beach was voted the best beach in Australia and it’s easy to see why! Fitzroy Island is seriously an island paradise, and the best part is that it’s just a 45-minute boat ride from Cairns.

Reaching Nudey Beach is an easy 20-minute walk from the resort on the island if you’re staying overnight, and it’s an absolute dream for snorkelling, swimming and seeing marine wildlife.

If you’re spending time on Fitzroy Island, you absolutely need to book a boat trip or enjoy some of the watersports on offer. We spent most of our trip to Fitzroy Island on a boat or in the sparkling blue water.
