Mount Wellington / kunanyi is a mountain located just out of Hobart that stands at an impressive 1,271 meters above sea level, dominating the skyline of Hobart. From the summit on a clear day you can see 360-degree panoramas of the city of Hobart, the Derwent Valley and Bruny Island.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months of the year, as snow or icy conditions can cause the road to close to the summit (be sure to check this before you head there!)

Sunrise on a clear morning or sunset on a summer afternoon is our favourite time to go as golden hour up there is something special, particularly if you’re into photography!
