Carlowrie Castle is a beautiful stately home located just outside of Kirkliston, Scotland. Built in the mid-19th century, it was designed by the renowned architect David Rhind in the Scottish Baronial style. Unlike traditional castles, Carlowrie Castle doesn't have any defensive structures and is more of a grand residence. It has been owned by only two families throughout its history: the Hutchison family, who built it, and the Marshall family, who acquired it later on. The castle has an interesting past, with connections to successful wine merchants, tragic events, and even a famous Arctic explorer. Today, it stands as a testament to Scottish architecture and history.
