Uwajima Castle, also known as Tsurushima-jō, is a historic Japanese castle located in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture. Built between 1596 and 1601 by Tōdō Takatora, the castle features a three-story wooden tenshu (keep) and innovative pentagonal layout of moats and walls. Despite suffering damage from earthquakes and World War II bombings, the castle's tenshu remains intact and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Visitors can explore the castle grounds, which have been recognized as a National Historic Site since 1937.
