Getting There:

• By Train and Bus: From Tokyo, take the Akita Shinkansen to Tazawako Station, which takes about 3 hours. From there, a bus ride to Nyuto Onsen takes approximately 45 minutes. Some accommodations provide shuttle services from the bus stop, so it’s worth checking in advance.

• By Car: If driving, it’s about a 1-hour journey from the Morioka Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. Be cautious during winter as the roads can be snowy and challenging.

Tsurunoyu features several baths, including a mixed-gender outdoor bath surrounded by natural scenery, as well as gender-specific indoor baths.
