Located near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Toraya Karyo Kyoto Ichijo is a charming tea room attached to the renowned Wagashi confectioner, Toraya. While I lived in Kyoto, I studied and learned how to make Japanese wagashi (sweets) like this and I would choose to visit this one to pick up their seasonal items. The garden and atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant.
