The North East of Scotland Guide

The North East of Scotland is often overlooked by the western side of the country, however this region really does have a lot to offer. This region is famed for it's Speyside whisky, beautiful coastlines with quaint fishing villages and historic castles. In this corner of Scotland you'll find the area with the most castles per square metre, some of the best and iconic whisky distilleries and some hidden gems too. Along the coastline you'll spot wild seals, dolphins and incredible bird life and if you're lucky you might spot some cute puffins nesting. I am a proud Moray Speyside girl who has also studied in Aberdeen city - which I have to say has lots of charm too. During my tour guide training of this area I discovered so many hidden and unknown areas that are worthy to be in this guide. This area should not be missed on your trip to Scotland: the North East includes the counties of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.
