Parking is available at Dale, but it’s advisable to speak with the landowners about parking arrangements. The easiest winter route to the summit of Nona follows the ski touring trail from Dale, heading east into Dalsdalen. Cross Dalselva at its narrowest point and follow the west side of the streams coming from Nonskarvannene. From lake 428, take the widest couloir up to the summit of Nona.
It’s often wise to carry your skis on your backpack for much of the ascent. The slope ranges from approximately 30 to 45 degrees, so bringing crampons and an ice axe is recommended. Large portions of both the ascent and descent traverse KAST 3 avalanche terrain, requiring strong skiing skills and significant experience in avalanche-prone areas.
