Yonako Falls are a pair of stunning waterfalls—Odaki (Male Falls) and Medaki (Female Falls)—surrounded by lush forests and towering cliffs. The area offers a distinct experience depending on the season, with summer hikes showcasing vibrant greenery and winter treks revealing frozen cascades and snowy trails.

Summer Season (May–November)

Highlights:

  • Twin waterfalls: Odaki (80m tall) and Medaki (100m tall).

  • Lush greenery and vibrant landscapes.

  • Perfect spot for photography and picnics near the falls.

Access via Public Transportation:

  • By Train: Take the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano Station.

  • By Bus: From Nagano Station, take a local bus to Togakushi or Shinano-machi, and transfer to a taxi for the final stretch to Yonako Falls Trailhead.

Hike Details:

  • Distance: 3 km round trip.

  • Duration: 2 hours.

  • Difficulty: Beginner-friendly, with 250m elevation gain.
