Grindelwald-Wengen is the largest ski area of the Jungfrau Ski Region (including Männlichen and Kleine Scheidegg). It has 21 lifts and 101 km of slopes, with a wide variety of difficulty.

HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest access to this ski area is via the cable cars from Grindelwald Terminal. It's 29 mins by train from Interlaken Ost. There is a large parking garage at this station.

If you are staying in Grindelwald, you can reach Grindelwald Terminal by train or bus.

If you are in Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, or Mürren, best to use the mountain train to Kleine Scheidegg or Wengen-Männlichen cable car.

SKI TICKETS

The Jungfrau Ski Pass includes the Grindelwald-First ski area, as well as Grindelwald-Wengen and Mürren-Schilthorn. You can purchase 1/2 day, 1 days or multi-day pass up to 14 days. Children under 6 ski free.

If you are only sledding or winter hiking, you can instead by the Jungfrau Winter Hiking and Sledging pass, which gives you unlimited use of certain mountain transport that accesses sled runs and hiking trails.

For the season pass, they are part of the AlpsPass, which also includes Engelberg, Adelboden Lenk, and Aletsch Arena.

💡TIP: In 2026, Children age 15 and under ski free on Saturdays with their parents. Intersport provides free ski rentals for children on these days.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

There is an Intersport shop in the Grindelwald Terminal station, top of the Mönnlichen cable car, and in Wengen village. At the Kleine Scheidegg pass, there is Wyss Sport, which rents sleds and other sport equipment.

There are also more sport rental shops in the Grindelwald village. Best to reserve in advance.
