The Parker Ridge Trail is a short popular hike along the Icefields Parkway with stunning views of the Saskatchewan Glacier & Saskatchewan River. You can also enjoy panoramic vistas of Mt. Athabasca, Hilda Peak, and other prominent peaks along the way. The trail is around 6.6 km long and has an elevation gain of around 345 m.
There is plenty of parking, restrooms and any information you need for this hike. Most of the elevation is at the start (lots of switchbacks) but flattens out as you approach the glacial valley view. The views at the top are genuinely stunning and if you have time for a hike on the Icefields parkway day, we recommend this one! It gets quite exposed with the elevation so definitely bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen!
