If I were to ever build myself a tiny home I would probably design it after the Getaway Houses! I honestly did not want to leave.

The “Portland” location of Getaway House is actually across the state line in Washington. Spread out across 80 acres, this small collection of soft-contemporary cabins offer all the comforts of home with nary a soul in sight. I can’t say enough about those glorious picture windows in the bedrooms. There’s nothing like waking up to a panoramic view of the forest.

I thought you might like to know. . . There are Getaway House locations all over the United States, so even if you’re not in the Pacific Northwest this is an awesome option. If you are in the PNW, rejoice! I just checked the website and it looks like they are working on another property closer to Seattle.

Also, I’m not sure what the deal is at other Getaway House locations, but there is no service and no Wifi at the Portland location.
