If you're near Watkins Glen, this road side stop is definitely worth taking a quick detour.

Hector Falls is an impressive waterfall, cascading about 165 feet. It's unique because it's divided into two main sections: an upper and a lower falls.

• You can see the upper falls right from Route 414. Head north from Watkins Glen on NY-414 for about 5 minutes and you'll see the waterfall on your right. There's a bridge in front of the waterfall and you'll probably see a few cars already pulled over to look at it.

• The lower falls are only accessible via the Falling Waters Boat Tour or by kayak
