This is a hidden gem on the edge of the Catkills and Central Upstate NY.

Mine Kill Falls is located in Mine Kill Falls State Park. The falls cascade 80 feet (24 meters) down a series of rocky ledges.

To reach Mine Kill Falls, head to the parking area about 1/4 mile from the main entrance to Mine Kill Falls State Park.

There are two ways to see the falls:

1. The Overlook Platform

2. The Bottom of the Mine Kill Falls.

The stairs to the Overlook are very well maintained and easy to use. The hike down to the bottom is relatively short but rewarding. Unfortunately, you can't swim in the waterfall, but you can swim in the pool located in the park.

If you want to explore more of the park, there are several hiking trails, a free Olympic sized swimming pool, and picnic areas to spend the day.
