Fort William Henry was a British fort located on the southern end of Lake George.

Constructed in 1755 during the French and Indian War, the fort served as a staging ground for attacks against Fort St. Frédéric. After a six-day siege, it was surrendered to the French led by their Native American allies in 1757. This event, which included the ruthless massacre of unarmed civilians, was immortalized in James Fenimore Cooper's novel The Last of the Mohicans.

Today, you can visit the replica fort and gain a unique insight into 18th Century history of the war and Lake George area.
