Lake Minnewanka, meaning ‘Water of the Spirits’ in Nakoda, is an incredible glacial lake in Banff National Park in Canada. Visitors can take in the breathtaking sights of the area, from Mount Aylmer - the highest mountain in the park - to the shorelines of the lake dotted with boats. Lake Minnewanka's 28 km length is made even more impressive by its depth of 142m, making it the second longest lake in the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies. Away from its calming beauty, a dive into the lake reveals an interesting history; from stone tools and spearheads found by archaeologists to submerged bridge pilings from the past, adding to its unique character. There are plenty of activities for visitors like boat tours, hiking trails, mountain biking, or just taking in the wonders of nature, so don't miss out on the opportunity to explore this magical spot!
