Welcome to Hase-dera, a truly special place here in Kamakura. You'll find it nestled on a hillside, offering some of the most stunning views over the ocean and our coastal town. As you wander through the beautiful gardens, which are a delight in any season, you'll feel a sense of peace. The main buildings are partway up the slope, so there are some stairs to climb, but the panoramic view from the top terrace is absolutely worth it. Don't miss the magnificent, eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and the charming Benten-kutsu cave with its carved figures.

  • Local Tip:

    • You can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms from late March to early April, followed by stunning hydrangeas in June.

    • Open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Extended to 5:00 PM from April to June)

    • Admission is 400 yen for adults and 200 yen for children.

    • It’s a 5-minute walk from Hase Station.
