🇬🇧 At the beginning of the 19th century, a train line ran through Bosnia and Herzegovina, connecting Dubrovnik and Vienna - the Ćiro. Today, the train line is no longer in use, the stations fell into disrepair, people moved away. The Stanica (station) Ravno however was rebuilt and now houses a boutique hotel and restaurant with a wine bar! The food is excellent, the rooms clean, the location picturesque in the middle of Herzegovina's solitude, and Trebinje, Mostar, and Dubrovnik are close - so although Ravno isn't necessarily on the way, I can really recommend a stop here for that reason. If not for an overnight stay, then at least for lunch.

🇩🇪 Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts lief durch Bosnien-Herzegowina eine Zugstrecke, die Dubrovnik und Wien miteinander verband – der Ćiro. Heute ist die Zugstrecke nicht mehr in Benutzung, die Bahnhöfe verfielen, Menschen zogen weg. Die Stanica (Station) Ravno allerdings wurde wieder erbaut und beherbergt nun ein Boutique-Hotel und Restaurant mit einer Weinbar! Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet, die Zimmer sauber, die Lage malerisch mitten in der Einsamkeit der Herzegowina und Trebinje, Mostar und Dubrovnik sind nah – obwohl Ravno nicht unbedingt auf dem Weg liegt, kann ich deswegen einen Stopp hier wirklich empfehlen. Wenn nicht zum Übernachten, dann auf jeden Fall zum Lunch.
