Uummannaq is a town in central-western Greenland, known for its stunning location on Uummannaq Island. With a population of 1,407 in 2020, it's the eighth-largest town in Greenland and boasts the country's most northerly ferry terminal. Founded in 1763 as Omenak, this hunting and fishing base also houses a canning factory and a marble quarry. Visitors are charmed by the local folklore that Santa Claus resides in Spraglebugten Bay, adding a touch of magic to this remote Arctic community.
