The drive out to Glenorchy is unreal, you’re hugging Lake Wakatipu the whole way with mountains getting bigger and bigger as you go. It’s one of those drives where you want to keep pulling over.

Once you get to the wharf, it’s just so pretty. The red shed, the mountains, the wide open space, it all feels really peaceful and kind of untouched.

We ended up just hanging out there for a while. Skipping rocks, letting the kids run around, and even going for a quick (very chilly) dip in the lake. It’s one of those stops that’s super simple but ends up being a favorite.
