Lysekil is one of the many charming coastal towns along Sweden’s West Coast, and it’s a place I truly loved exploring on foot. The atmosphere is relaxed, scenic, and full of character - perfect for a slow day by the sea.

Here are some of the best things to do in Lysekil:

  • Enjoy a visit to Lysekils Utsiktstorn, located just behind the church. From here, you’ll get a beautiful panoramic view over the town.

  • Take some time to wander through Gamlestaden, Lysekil’s old town. It’s incredibly charming, with narrow streets and traditional houses. Navigate to Gamla Strandgatan and enjoy your walk.

  • If you’re visiting in warmer months, head to Lysekils Kallbadhuset. During summer, you can swim here free of charge, and there’s also a sauna available for a fee. Read more about it here: https://lysekilkallbadhus.se/

  • Finally, make sure to explore Stångehuvuds Nature Reserve. This stunning nature reserve is a must-visit, known for its dramatic granite cliffs and ocean views. You'll find all the info about this nature reserve in my map at a different pin.
