Lysekil is one of the many charming coastal towns along Sweden’s West Coast, and it’s a place I truly loved exploring on foot. The atmosphere is relaxed, scenic, and full of character - perfect for a slow day by the sea.
Here are some of the best things to do in Lysekil:
Enjoy a visit to Lysekils Utsiktstorn, located just behind the church. From here, you’ll get a beautiful panoramic view over the town.
Take some time to wander through Gamlestaden, Lysekil’s old town. It’s incredibly charming, with narrow streets and traditional houses. Navigate to Gamla Strandgatan and enjoy your walk.
If you’re visiting in warmer months, head to Lysekils Kallbadhuset. During summer, you can swim here free of charge, and there’s also a sauna available for a fee. Read more about it here: https://lysekilkallbadhus.se/
Finally, make sure to explore Stångehuvuds Nature Reserve. This stunning nature reserve is a must-visit, known for its dramatic granite cliffs and ocean views. You'll find all the info about this nature reserve in my map at a different pin.
