Katsuo-ji is a Buddhist temple located in the mountains of Minoh City, in the northern suburb of Osaka. It is known for its traditional Daruma dolls as symbols of good fortune and granted wishes. Katsuo-ji's history began during Japanese antiquity, in early Nara period (710 – 794). The temple has maintained strong relationships with authorities throughout Japan's history and now welcomes visitors to explore its grounds and discover the colorful displays it has on offer throughout the year, with illuminations often held at night. As a sign of good luck, many visitors take away a Daruma doll from the temple as a souvenir. Katsuo-ji is open every day, making it the perfect place for anyone looking to add a bit of luck and beauty to their travels. The best time to visit is Autumn, as it all gets painted in red and the maple leaves makes this place even more magical!
