Ueno Park is one of Japan's five oldest public parks and its best known sights include a zoo, many museums, and spectacular cherry blossom trees. It is located in Taito-ku, Tokyo-to, and opened to the public in 1873. Here you will find six diverse museums exhibiting art, history, science and more. The Shitamachi Museum showcases Tokyo's rich heritage, while the nearby Shinobazu Pond has thousands of beautiful lotus blossoms which bloom during the summer months. Lastly, don't forget to visit the statue of Saigo Takamori, the "last true samurai". In Ueno Park there is something for everyone!
