The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most photographed landmarks, standing proudly along Merdeka Square. Built in 1897, it showcases a striking blend of Moorish, Indo-Saracenic, and Victorian architecture, with copper domes, arched colonnades, and a central clock tower that once served as the British colonial administration offices.

Today, it houses Malaysia’s Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. While the interior isn’t open to the public, the exterior is a must-see — especially at night when it’s beautifully illuminated. The area is pedestrian-friendly and best explored together with Merdeka Square and the nearby River of Life.
